Fathers Day Dinner: Pork Chops with Homemade Chunky Honey Applesauce

Chunky Honey Applesauce

Ingredients:

  • 6 apples ( your choice - my favorite is Fuji, Tyler's favorite is Gala)
  • 1/2 Tbls cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Honey ( Coastal Mountain Sage is perfect for this recipe)
  • 1/2 Tsp lemon Zest
  • 1/2 Tbls butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • pinch salt

Directions:

  • Peel, slice and coarse chop the apples.

  • Place in 2 quart pan and add cinnamon, honey, lemon zest, butter, water and pinch of salt.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Makes 1 quart applesauce.
  • Enjoy now and/or store for up to 1 week in refrigerator.
  • Try it on pancakes or waffles for a special breakfast treat.  Even the most finicky eaters love this applesauce.  :)
